Kyler Becksted is an investor at Conductive Ventures, where he backs entrepreneurs who persevere in the face of adversity. Raised in Humboldt County—a rural area far removed from Silicon Valley—he began his career with jobs like hauling hay and delivering pizza. The tenacity and hunger he cultivated through those experiences are the very qualities he looks for in the entrepreneurs he invests in today.
Kyler broke into finance through sheer persistence, interning at tech-focused hedge fund Wahdy Capital Management before joining KeyBanc Capital Markets’ Technology investment banking team. There, he advised middle-market software companies on M&A, capital raises, and financings, gaining deep insight into what it takes to build and scale enduring businesses.
Having been told “no” countless times while fighting for opportunities without connections, Kyler gravitates toward resilient, underestimated teams with something to prove. He brings the same punch-above-your-weight mentality that got him to the table to help founders compete and win - embodying the grit that defines Conductive’s portfolio companies.
Kyler has a B.S. in Managerial Economics from UC Davis.
